Whether you’re a new mum, a school-run mum, or a working mum, with so much time spent inside this past year, it’s likely your beauty routine (along with everything else!) has fallen by the wayside.
Now that things are finally opening up again, and we’re all emerging back into the real world, you might be feeling like you should up your beauty game, but wondering how on earth you’re going to find the time.
With this in mind, our In-House Beauty Expert Tahira Herold has shared her top 5 quick and easy tips to help you look and feel your best, even when your time is really limited:
Repurpose what you have: A good multi-use product can really cut down on the time it takes to achieve your daily look. Find ways to maximise what’s already in your makeup bag – a shimmery eyeshadow can double up as a highlighter, or a soft lip colour can also be applied to cheeks as a blusher.
Get the glow: A glowing primer, moisturiser or SPF can give your skin a boost when it’s feeling a little lacklustre. Radiance creams, or mixing a bit of shimmery product into your regular moisturiser can really help to perk up tired skin, and can even mean you can give foundation a miss altogether – rocking a more natural, dewy look instead.
Don’t cut the concealer: As a busy mum concealer is your BFF! Gently apply under your eyes using a brush or finger, and be sure to get the inner and outer corners of the under-eye to really lift it. It’s best to apply after foundation (if you’re wearing it), so you don’t layer too much product over this area.
Keep your skin hydrated: For a quick burst of freshness, mist your face in the morning before applying your moisturiser or face oil, then mist again after applying any makeup to set it. When you feel in need of a refresh throughout the day, simply mist again.
Treat your hair: Try using a moisture mask, leave-in conditioner, or a simple oil like olive or argan to slick your hair back into a tight ponytail or bun in the morning, then wash out at the end of the day for lustrous locks!
“I hope you find these little hacks helpful and that they help you to look and feel amazing on even your busiest (and tiredest) days. For more beauty tutorials and advice, keep an eye out for my reels over on the Wellbeing Sisters Instagram account. Much love, Tahira.”
